November 2025 Recap: AI in Facilities Management

Artificial intelligence is not a substitute for human intelligence. It is a tool to amplify it.

During this month’s CoreBuild™ Collective roundtable, FM leaders dug into how AI is being used across Facilities, Construction, and Procurement, and where it’s actually moving the needle (or not quite yet).

Key takeaways from FM leaders

ChatGPT leads, mostly for personal learning. Many companies still restrict formal business use, but FMs are exploring AI independently to stay ahead. CoPilot is entering the space, but it isn’t the go-to yet.

CMMS platforms are the current center of gravity for AI. Analytics, automation, and benchmarking are gaining traction, but adoption depends on clean data, a solid baseline, and meaningful insights tied to how the platform is used.

Cost and ROI still drive the conversation. AI has to show measurable value. Service providers who embed AI-driven benchmarking and insights into the partnership, not just the services, will differentiate in the market.

Excel and Smartsheet still reign. Capital planning and budgeting still run through spreadsheets in many organizations, because trust in data takes time and investment. Bridge that gap and you become indispensable.

The takeaway? AI doesn’t replace expertise, it amplifies it. The partners who win are the ones who use AI to sharpen their value and help clients work smarter, not harder.

And if you don’t believe us, this recap was drafted with AI. The insights, though, came straight from the FM leaders in the room, with a final edit by a human so it lands where it should.

That’s the kind of conversation happening inside the CoreBuild™ Collective. If you’re a multi-site FM leader who wants in, reach out at [email protected].
